    A Pistol Lake-Approved Guide:
    Keeping Your Gear Fresh

If you've ever wondered how to keep your beloved and comfy gear looking as fresh as the day it arrived, worry no longer. From the factory to cities all around the world, we've stress-tested conditions top to bottom to save you time (and sanity)!

We have the answers to this test... and, duh, we're here to share them, it'd be rude not to.

    1. Machine Wash Cool

When possible, machine wash on cool and use the gentle cycle with like colors.

Our gear won't shrink on higher heat – phew! But any warmth will slowly deteriorate fabrics over time, TYL!

    2. Inside Out

Wash clothes inside out to prevent abrasion and pilling to the outside of your garments.

We've cut down on pills compared to most brands, but they're impossible to completely eliminate – this step will help!

    3. Separate zippered gear

You should try to wash zippered clothing separately. Additionally, make sure they're zipped up while in a machine.

If not, the teeth can snag or rough up your clothing in the washer/dryer.

    4. Buttons Undone

Undo buttons to reduce excess strain on the fabric.

Just pretend they're going for a hunky look while in the washer, it'll help you remember this tip!

As a bonus, it will keep them sewn on longer as well.

    5. Avoid The Dryer

Those giant cans of warmth can cause unnecessary abrasion on your clothes as heat weakens fabric fibers and fading dyes.

Instead, lie them flat or use a drying rack. Steer clear of hangers for drying because it can stretch out shoulders permanently.

    6. Wash Less. Get More.

In general, you shouldn't need to wash Pistol Lake gear as often as other clothes.

After light wear, lay items flat + air out.

Our sweat-wicking, odor-resisting Eudae will ensure that frequent cleanings are not required.

And that's it! Boom, you're on the path to fresh, durable, and stylish gear that looks as good as the day you bought it. If you have any other questions or concerns, email us at team@pistollake.com, we'd be happy to lend a hand.
